To increase trust and transparency on Google Play, we are adding developer verification requirements to the Play Console Requirements policy.
To create a new Play Console developer account for your organization after August 31, 2023, you will need to add the following:
Your organization’s Dun Code: Provided by Dun & Bradstreet, a Dun Code is a unique nine-digit number that can be used to identify a business globally. Google will use your DUN code to verify your organization.
Phone number and email address (for Google Play users to contact you): This information will appear on Google Play so users can contact you. You will need to receive a verification code to verify this information.
To help you prepare yourself for these changes, we recommend that you review your Dun & Bradstreet account yourself to ensure you are providing the most up-to-date information about your organization.
Soon, developers with existing Play Console accounts will also be required to provide this information. Existing developers will be notified in a timely manner to verify their accounts, and updates on these requirements will be sent later this year.
